Fine Tuning

1. Double click "My Computer" on your desktop.
   
   
2. Double click "Dial Up Networking."
   
   
3. Locate the "Orcas Online" connection and right click on the icon. Choose "Properties" at the bottom and left click.
   
   
4. You should now be a "General" area showing the phone number you entered previously.
   
   
5. Click the check box next to "Use Area Code and Dialing Properties". Tne computer does not need the area code to dial Orcas Online from the San Juan Islands area.
   
   
6. Near the top of this screen choose the "Server Types" tab.
   
   
7. Make sure "Enable Software Compression" and "TCP/IP" are the only items checked here. All others may be un-checked.
   
   
8. Click "OK" to close the window. This saves the changes we made.
   
   
9. For easy access to the Orcas Online connection, drag the Orcas Online icon to the "Start" button at the bottom left of your screen and let go. Now Click the start button and you should see the Orcas Online icon in the upper section of your start menu.
   
   
10. Click this icon to open the dialer.
