Tutorial and Help Return to Setting Up Your Personal Webspace
There are a variety of excellent tutorials for beginning HTML writers. Many of these are available through the Web itself. Here are some places to begin to look for them. We remind you that Concentric Network does not currently offer service in the process of designing or editing Web pages. Customer Support will be able to help you if you have a problem with moving files, uploading files, manipulating graphics, and so forth, but we are unable to help you in writing your HTML files.
These addresses will give you somewhere to begin your searches. There is an enormous body of literature out there on how to write HTML documents, stylistic considerations, the history of HTML, new HTML extensions, HTML conversion programs, and the like.
Possibly the best place for you to learn more about HTML is the Web itself. Almost every Web browser has the ability to show you the source of any document, rather than displaying the finished page. This will show you the series of HTML commands that generated it. On most browsers this option is called View Source, View HTML, or something similar.
In this way, you can look around the Web, and if you find a feature or format that you like, you can view the source code to see how it was generated. This provides an enormous number of worked examples for you to look at while making your own documents.
