Getting Started - Macintosh

These instructions are for  a Macintosh OS 9 Manual Setup. Have your login names and phone numbers ready!

STEP 1: From the Apple Menu slide down to Control Panels and  slide over & down to: Remote Access (see image).

1. From the File menu select Configurations and then click the duplicate button. 
2. Click Rename button.
3. Type in “Orcas Online”
4. Click OK.
5. Click Make Active.
6. Type in your login and your password (in lower case letters).
7. Type 376-4126 for the phone number.
8. Click  the Options button (see image).
9. Click the Protocols tab.
10. Click the top three check boxes.
11. Click OK.

STEP 2: From the Remote Access menu:

1. Select TCP/IP (see image) and the new window select Configurations.
2. Click Duplicate.
3. Type “Orcas Online.”
4. Click OK.
5. Choose Orcas Online and click Make Active.
6. Back on TCP/IP screen make sure choices are
   Connect via: PPP 
   Configure: PPP Server
7. Close the window and choose to Save.

STEP 3: Connect 

1. Make sure phone line is attached to modem and click the Connect button.
2. After connecting open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.) and begin surfing.
