Getting Started - Windows PC

Instructions for connecting to the Internet with a Windows PC
  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click on the Start button and chose Run.
  3. Errase anything that is written in the Run box and type ”inetwiz”. (This is the command for the “Internet Wizard” to open) Click “OK”.
  4. Choose “Connect using phone line….” Click “Next”
  5. Uncheck the box “Dial using area code country code….”
    Enter the Orcas Online Dial-in Number: “376-4126″
    Click “Next”
  6. Enter your user name and password.
    Your username does not include the “@orcasonline.com” (for example jdoe@orcasonlne.com has a username of “jdoe”)
    Click “Next”
  7. Rename the connection name to “Orcas Online” Click “Next”
    If you want to set up Email choose yes. and click “Next”
    If not then choose “no” and click Next and skip to Step #13
  8. Email Setup –> Enter your real name (SKIP to Step xx if you do not want to set up email).
    (For example “John Doe”)
    Click “Next”
    Enter your email address
    (ie. jdoe@orcasonline.com)
    Click “Next”
    Choose “Pop3″ or “Pop” as type of server.
    Enter mail.orcasonline.com for the incoming mail server and smtp.orcasonline.com
    for the outgoing (SMTP) mail server.
    Click “Next”
    Enter your user name and password
    Choose not to use “Secure Password Authenication”
    Click “Next”
  9. Click Finish. And you are done! Now use Internet Explorer to connect to net. IE will prompt you with a dial up window. Click “Connect” and your off and running.
